Daily Bible Nugget #138, Daniel 10:21
The Nugget:
Daniel 10:21 But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
My Comment:
The sixth title the Bible gives itself is the scripture of truth. In context, it is the angel God sent to Daniel who states he will show Daniel "that which is noted in the scripture of truth." This title indicates that the Bible is true and dependable. An interesting side note pertains to "Michael your prince." One modern English translation suggests by its rendering that Michael is the guardian angel of Israel. That would seem to be a better idea than to claim that Michael is the pre-incarnate Christ, and that Jesus has now returned to be what he was before, Michael the archangel. I hardly suppose that could be a correct understanding of who Jesus is. Paul speaks of Jesus since his resurrection and ascension to heaven as "the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). Besides, the Bible denies Jesus took on the nature of an angel, but asserts he took on the seed of Abraham (Hebrews 2:16).
