Daily Bible Nugget #166, John 17:17
The Nugget:
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
My Comment:
The Scriptures are described as truth. In this passage, Jesus declares that God's Word is truth. The truth has the power to sanctify. Sanctify is a term not much used today outside of religious circles. It can mean to set apart for God. It can mean to be made holy. When God's written Word is permitted to enter someone's life, that person's life will improve and change for the better as they become properly related to God. That certainly demonstrates the truth of the Bible, and the power of the Bible. Make the Bible a daily part of your life by taking some time each day to read and study it. In eternity, not to mention the here and now, you will be glad you did.
